Swine Flu - Could it be the next global pandemic circa 1918?

I've touched on the pandemic flu subject before in my post, Bird Flu and the Potential Impact on the Internet. Much of my thinking on the subject came from the book, Flu: The Story Of The Great Influenza Pandemic. 

With governments in full alert mode around the world with the swine flu this morning the subway seemed less busy, metro-north had more seats. Maybe it's a holiday? As this progresses we'll see the impact in real-time with Twitter and other social media.
